Generator

Removal and Replacement

Elimination

1 Raise the engine cover.

2 Disconnect the battery. Separate the earth lead first.

3 Loosen up the alternator mounting bolt A situated below the generator and also B and also on the readjusting bracket. Eliminate the follower belt C from the generator drive pulley-block.

4 Detach the electrical connections from the alternator.

5 Support the generator and remove the mounting bolts.

6 Remove the alternator.

Substitute

1 Placed the generator ready and also install the placing screws, Do not tighten up the screws.

2 Put the follower belt on to the sheave.

3 Depress the follower belt C at the centre between the generator pulley-block and also the crankshaft pulley with a finger force of 49Nm, (11lbf – 5kgf) approx. The belt deflection need to be 10 mm (0.4 in) approx.

4 Connect the electric connections.

5 Reconnect the battery.

Essential: Connect the planet lead last.

B 6 Close the engine cover.
