Drive system on the machine starts with a shuttle-shifted hydrostatic transmission with IPOR. Transmission is a variable displacement, from minimum to maximum oil flow. The speed at which the machine moves is controlled by a foot pedal.
Forward and reverse motion of the machine is controlled with the use of a shift lever located on the steering column. Shift lever sends an electrical signal down to the directional controller on transmission. Drive pedal uses control pressure from hydro Ps-port.
When the pedal is pushed down, the spool opens allowing controlled pressure oil into the stroking piston, increasing pressure and oil flow to wheel motors, making the machine move faster. When the pedal is in the up position, controlled pressure to the controller is stopped allowing the stroking piston to return to neutral. Oil is returned to R-port on top of hydro.
Hydro has a charge pump that supplies oil flow and pressure to operate hydro. Charge pressure is adjustable and should be set to manufacturer specification. Charge pressure relief valve is set to 2200 kPa (319 psi).
