The latest generation of compact excavators was launched in Europe in 1999 with four new models in the 2.5 to 4.5 t range. As with all Volvo construction machines, the compact excavator line develops impressive performance and technological advances.
Examples of different models are the unique load-sensing hydraulic system for precise control under all load conditions and the opening counterweight for excellent access to the engine compartment. Safety features such as the rollover protection structure (ROPS), the anti-tip structure (TOPS) and the protection structure against falling objects (FOPS) contribute to excellent operator safety.
