See an extract of the M-Gator Engine Removal and Installation
1. Park machine safely. See “Park Machine Safely” in the Safety section.
2. Disconnect battery negative (-) cable.
3. Remove cargo box. See Cargo Box Removal and Installation on page 386 in the Miscellaneous section.
4. Turn the fuel shutoff valve to the off position.
5. Allow muffler to cool, or wear protective gloves before working on muffler. Remove muffler. See Muffler Removal
and Installation on page 58.
6. Remove clutch enclosure and drive belt of the M-Gator.
7. Remove clutch using JDG1641 clutch removal tool.
8. Drain cooling system and leave hoses disconnected until engine installation. See Radiator Drain Procedure on page 377.
9. Remove the spring pin (A) and disconnect the shift rod from the transmission.
10.Disconnect transmission neutral switch (B) and remove harness restrainer (C) from bracket.
11.Disconnect the differential lock cable (D) from the transmission.
12.Remove the three cap screws (E) and remove the cable mounting bracket from the transmission. Route the cables and mounting bracket away from the engine
